Rama Letchuman, MD

Dr. Rama Letchuman’s passion for his job has led him to be one of the most compassionate, knowledgeable, and sincere physicians in his field. Following his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, he went on to complete his fellowship in Pain Management at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr Letchuman and his family moved to Shreveport in 2005 where he began practicing at Pain Care Consultants.
Letchuman will tell you with enthusiasm how much he loves his job and practicing pain management. He believes one of the greatest rewards of his field is having the opportunity to work with patients that have been dealing with problems caused by their chronic pain and create a treatment plan with the patient that will work to reverse the pain and allow for a healthier and happier life. Letchuman is a listener… he wants to know his patient’s stories…he wants to help his patients get back the life they love.
With Letchuman’s strong background in both physical medicine and pain management, he utilizes a multimodal approach that may include medication management, physical therapy and injections.
Dr. Letchuman and his wife have been happily married for over thirty years and are the proud parents of four sons. Their oldest son is currently a neurosurgery resident at the University of California- San Francisco; their second son is currently in medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City; their third son is a cadet at the United States Military Academy West Point in West Point, New York; and their fourth son is graduating from high school and has numerous interests including working within a program at NASA. Letchuman loves spending time with family, spending time outdoors and cooking family meals together. He is an avid reader and tries to stay current in local, state and world affairs.
